Report to Sales Manager  

As an Outside Sales Engineer, you will endeavor to maintain and develop customer relationships through quality service and support of their needs.  Responsibilities include establishing customer needs, providing high level of technical support, selecting equipment based on scheduled performance and releasing (factory and stock) orders. This position requires technical understanding of HVAC products and systems, as well as excellent time management, interpersonal, and communication skills. 

 
Job Responsibilities

  • Generate comprehensive customer quotes for the products we represent including but 
    not limited to air distribution, terminals, fans and mechanical equipment. 
  • Prepare detailed submittals per company standard guidelines. 
  • Download and save specifications, schedules, and details as it relates to project 
    quotations. 
  • Utilize, organize, and maintain all PMD files by performing the following: tracking PO’s, Submittals, Correspondence, change orders, Service Work and closing out and complete all billing.  
  • Process stock and factory orders for customers and/or Outside Sales Representatives 
  • Answer phone calls (including 252 whenever possible), and emails from customers relating to: quotations, order processing and tracking, freight claims, product availability, field service or warranty issues. 
  • Work with the Sales Manager to ensure buyouts are reviewed properly for project conformance and are complete and at the desired level of profitability. 
  • Follow established sales processes.  If you do not know, it is your responsibly to ask. 
  • Expand knowledge of HVAC fundamentals and product lines.  It is now your responsibility to stay informed and take the initiative to learn about products and systems that you are not fully versed. 
  • Furthermore, it will be your duty as an outside salesperson to educate co-workers and customers on Buckley products. 
  • Fulfill customer product and service needs by utilizing product knowledge and soliciting help 
    from other team members and other internal resources.

Education & Experience Requirements: 

  • Engineering Degree preferred. —or multiple years’ experience in the HVAC market        
  • Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word 
    and Outlook. 
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, equipment schedules and specifications.
