From Concept to Reality: Lab Exhaust Package

Tags: Airflow Equipment, Greenheck, Lab Exhaust

Located on the roof of a nearly 110 year old 6-story loft building in the Fort Point district of Boston, this custom exhaust air handler, manufactured by Air Flow Equipment, will service the critical exhaust requirements for numerous future tenants.

To meet the strict noise ordinances within the neighborhood, the unit is outfitted with 3′ stack silencers, a double wall bypass air weatherhood, as well as custom attenuating windbands.

As part of the engineered system, the tapered discharge nozzles allow for nearly 4000 FPM exit velocity under normal operating conditions in accordance with ANSI Z9.5, and a calculated plume height of nearly 41 feet, ensuring hazardous exhaust is expelled away from the building and air intakes.
